Club Overview
OUR CLUB
The club was first established in June 2007. It has changed locations a few times, but it finally has a more permanent home.
The club is located at 12223 – 66 Street in Edmonton, Alberta.
The space has new floors and is 1400 sqft. We can fit 2 full-sized pistes along with extra space for exercises and lessons. This size of space allows us to give more individual attention to fencers, causing our fencers’ skills to develop very quickly.
Our members are very social, creating a fun environment. Plus, we have many competitive members who will help you reach a competitive level if you’d like to. Many of our members have won medals at provincial, national, and international levels.
OUR COACH
Head Coach: Sergei (Siarhei) Kazimirski
Sergei’s name is actually spelled “Siarhei” on all of his official documentation. When he arrived in Canada in 2002, they misspelled his name when they translated it. However, to avoid confusion about the pronunciation of his name, we named the club “Sergei’s SabreClub.”
Sergei was born in Minsk, Belarus and started fencing at the age of 13. He became a national fencing champion in Belarus. His fencers have medalled at provincial, national, and international levels. Based on the ranking of his athletes, Sergei is one of the best sabre coaches in Canada.
